Lares adventure is the perfect tour to practice  different kind of outdoor activities and is special for hikers who want the adventure and to escape to a part of Peru that has changed little over the last 500 years, In this beautiful region, you will meet real Andean farmers dressed in traditional brightly-colored ponchos. You will pass through local communities and see thatched-roof houses made from stone and surrounded by herds of llamas and alpacas.

Day 1: Hike

Cusco – Quiswarani – Kunkani

We leave the Sacred Valley of the Incas early, taking the route which goes through the town of Calca in the direction of the Lares valley. On the way we will enjoy Andean scenery, characteristic of the quechua, suni and puna regions, reaching our highest point at the Lares mountain pass, over 4300 meters above sea level
We will take the turning to the community of Kiswarani, where the tradition of textile art (using ancestral methods and uses) is one of the principal economical activities of the area. After our lunch, we begin our walk uphill towards the Qeuñacocha lake, where we can appreciate a beautiful woodland of Qeuñas (a native Andean tree), protected by the reforestation project developed by the community of Keswarani. After a short rest, we will continue our climb to the Wilkajasa pass, from where we will have an amazing view of the Urubamba mountain range and its beautiful lakes of stunning colours.

We will begin our descent on a path which leads us to these beautiful lakes and to the waterfall in the kunkani area, where we will make our camp.

Day 2: Hike

Kunkani – Chankachaka – Lares

We leave our campsite and head towards the community of kuncani, which is characterized by the rearing of camelids and agriculture. Continuing our trek downhill through this narrow valley, we will enjoy the path next to the kuncani River, a source of fish such as trout for the local population. We will stop in chankachaka bridge  to enjoy our lunch and then walk towards the town of Lares, where we will enjoy the thermal baths and set up  our camp.

Day 3: Lares Biking

Lares – Masma – Khonda  – Quillabamba

the day begins with early  delicious  breakfast , the adventure  continues through this area , will make you experience the real lives of the local Andean communities From  Lares  we go down to the depths of the colca Valley, and you will have the chance to enjoy the amazing scenery, as well as the local flora and fauna. You’ll have the opportunity to see thatched stone houses surrounded by alpacas , llamas, canyons, rivers , and  to see and feel how fast is changing the temperature from cold to warmed.

Day 4: Rafting & Hotspring

Quillabamba –  Santa maria – Maranura – Qoqalmayo

After a breakfast we take transport to go to our starting point. From this starting point, we will start our rafting adventure, on the willacamayu river which is  one of the most important river in this area and also is  the tributary of the Amazon River, in this river you can enjoy  the  rapids class III and IV plus , when we finish this activity we take a car to take us to a paradise called qocalmayo, thermal baths with clear water to relax and enjoy this place.

*Rafting is only available in dry season.

Day5:zip line – Inkatrail llactapata

Qocalmayo – Llactapata –Hidroeléctrica – Aguas calientes

the adventure continue , After  breakfast we will walking up for about 3 hours to this fantatic inka place  “llakatapata” to see and enjoy the most fantastic , amazing view of machupicchu one day before  to visit. later walk down 2 hours  to our lunch spot to take  train and we will have the opportunity to admire the majesty of the mountains surrounding Machupicchu and Haynapicchu , 45 min by train to aguas calientes town

Day 6: Machupicchu

Aguas Calientes – Machupicchu – Cusco

you will meet your guide and take the 25 minutes bus ride up to Machu Picchu. You will have a tour with your guide where you will see and learn about the most important sites including the Temple of the Sun, the main plaza “Intiwatana” and the Temple of the Condor. After your tour, you will have some free time to explore the ruins on your own and take more pictures of this amazing place. When you are ready you can take the bus back down to “Aguas Calientes”, and in the afternoon you will take the train back to Cusco where we will pick you up from the train station and drop you off at your hotel.

Huayna Picchu or La Montaña: If you are interested in climbing “Huayna Picchu2 or “la Montaña”, the mountain overlooking Machu Picchu, there is an additional fee of $20 USD per person for us to buy your entrance ticket. Spaces are limited, so please let us know when booking whether you would like to hike Huayna Picchu or  “la montaña”, and we will reserve it for you. Hotel Upgrade: Included in this tour is one night at a comfortable Hotels. However, if you would like to upgrade to a 3, 4, or 5 star hotel, please just let us know what type of hotel you prefer and we can upgrade your accommodations only in ” Aguas Calientes”.

Vistadome Train: Our price includes a return train ticket in the Expedition train, however, if you would like to upgrade to the Vistadome train the price is an additional $50 USD per person.

Sleeping Bags: If you would like to rent a sleeping bag from us, the price is $25 USD per person in total for the hike.

Trekking Poles: We recommend taking trekking poles on the hike especially when hiking downhill. If you would like to rent a pair for the whole hike, the price is $20 USD per person.

If you would like tickets to climb Huayna Picchu after your tour of Machu Picchu, we will reserve a ticket for you as long as there is availability.

After sending your personal information, the next step is for each person in your group to make a deposit of $200 USD to reserve your hike. To make your deposit, please pay through our Paypal account visiting our Book Now page. To receive the student discount, you must send an email at the time you reserve your spot with a scan of both sides of your student ISIC card. This is the only student card accepted by the National Park and you can find more information about this student ID on the ISIC website here. The remaining balance is due in Cusco. You may pay in cash (either in US dollars or Peruvian soles) at your briefing.
